RE:ACT FORUM THEATRE FESTIVALS

YOUTH VOICES. REAL CHANGE.

RE:ACT IS INWARDBOUND’S APPLIED THEATRE AND SOCIAL IMPACT PLATFORM

Where youth meet purpose, and stories spark action. Since 2016, re:act has empowered young people to explore real-world issues through interactive theatre, digital tools, and cross-cultural storytelling.

We believe theatre isn’t just a performance—it's a catalyst. At re:act©, students confront themes that matter: environmental justice, mental health, inequality, and more. Through partnerships with charities, schools, and communities, they create bold, original work that doesn't just raise awareness—it calls for action.

Whether tackling cross-border issues or intergenerational divides, re:act remains a living lab for youth-led storytelling—bold, brave, and built for impact.

DISCOVER HOW STORIES BUILD BRIDGES ACROSS GENERATIONS.

β€―re:ACT Festival 2025 — our 10th edition — where students and seniors come together to create original performances based on real conversations. Held across Active Aging Centres, this year’s re:ACT Forum Theatre experience explores the power (and challenge) of intergenerational communication.

RE:ACT FESTIVAL

re:ACT Festival empowers students to create Forum Theatre performances on real-world issues through intergenerational, multi-national values-driven collaboration.

re:ACT is Singapore’s first youth applied theatre festival — a platform where students don’t just perform, they respond. Through devised Forum Theatre, youth collaborate with seniors and community groups to stage powerful stories that address real-life social issues.

Each year, re:ACT brings together schools, families, and partner agencies in a shared creative journey. Students explore themes like ageing, inclusivity or mental health — and reimagine what it means to care, to question, to act.

This is more than a performance.

It’s Values-in-Action in motion.
It’s drama with purpose.
It’s your students taking centre stage in building a kinder, more connected world.

OUR RE:ACT FESTIVALS

RE:ACT FESTIVAL 2025

In its 9th edition, re:ACT 2025 turned its focus to the often-overlooked gap between generations β€” not just in age, but in understanding. Held across four Active Aging Centres, this year’s festival explored intergenerational communication β€” and the silences that can grow when stories go unspoken.

RE:ACT FESTIVAL 2024

The re:ACTΒ© Forum Theatre Festival 2024 ran at the Arts House, Singapore from 19 - 24 April 2024. The 2024 theme was Caregiving. 6 participating schools completed their re:ACTΒ© Workshop Series with 6 different elderly active ageing centres across Singapore, and devised works based on real-world issues that they gathered from this experience. The students presented their Forum Theatre plays and invited audiences to intervene and solve problems with creative solutions.

RE:ACT FESTIVAL 2023

Bringing together students, educators, and seniors across the island, re:ACT 2023 empowered young changemakers to create original hybrid performances β€” blending short film and Forum Theatre β€” that addressed urgent real-world issues through the lens of empathy, inclusion, and dialogue.

PAST RE:ACT FESTIVALS

Since 2016,β€―re:ACTΒ©β€―has served as a powerful bridge β€” connecting youth with community causes, and turning awareness into action. Designed and presented by inwardBOUND, the festival empowers students to explore pressing social issues through innovative forms of applied and interactive theatre.
